As I can remember, it didn't do fantastic at release, although, I don't think it failed either. I remember playing the demo for the first one. It was fun, but EXACTLY like all other Dynasty Warriors games. But that is what the game is supposed to be huh? It seems obvious that they created both Gundam 1 and 2 to please fans of the anime.
